About the Ragdoll Kittens in Maryland

Temperament:

Ragdoll’s sweet temperament is probably its most outstanding trait. They are known for their extreme docile nature and getting along wonderfully with other pets and children. They are very dog-like in nature, will greet you at the front door and follow you throughout the house. Because of their very trusting and non-aggressive nature, Ragdolls should be indoor cats only.

Grooming:

Although Ragdolls have medium length hair, they are very easy to maintain. Their hair is typiclly non-matting and shed very little. It only needs to be brushed 1-2 times a week to keep it nice. Their coats can take up to 3 years to fully come in in length! Some Ragdoll kittens have short hair and out of nowhere they grow a fluffy, luxurious coat! My favorite part of seeing a Ragdoll develop is seeing the color coat changing from kittenhood to grown adult. A fully grown Ragdoll looks a lot different from the tiny newborn :)

Size:

Ragdolls are larger cats, however, they do not fully mature until they are 3-4 years of age. Once fully grown, males can weigh between 15-20 pounds, and females between 12-16 pounds.

Mink and Sepia Ragdolls:

Traditional Ragdolls are born all white and then the pattern and color develops over the next ten days. Mink Ragdolls have the Burmese gene (from the original foundation cats) and therefore not only are they born with color, but their coat is softer than a traditional. Mink typically have aqua eyes. To get Sepia Ragdolls you need two Mink Ragdolls parents. The color coat of a Sepia Ragdolls is richer and darker with gorgeous eyes in all shades from aqua to green or amber. Here are some examples of mink and sepia ragdolls:

Mink and Sepia Ragdolls come in the same colors and patterns as the traditional pointed ragdoll, they are born with color and they get darker and softer as they mature :)

Solid Ragdolls:

Solid ragdoll come in the same patterns and colors as non-solid ragdolls. They are born wtih full color and have no darker points. Their eyes are copper or green with exception of Blue Eyed White Ragdollm their eyes stay gorgeous shade of blue. Solid ragdolls have a gorgeous shiny coat and depending on pairing, can have pointed, mink and solid kittens in the litter. Here are a few examples of our white and chocolate solids:
